Think Pink awareness week held

Manama, Oct. 29(BNA): The Arabian Gulf University (AGU) College of Medicine and Medical Sciences held a week-long awareness campaign under the slogan "Think Pink".
The event was held in cooperation with the AGU Students’ Deanship Affairs as part of efforts to stress the importance of breast cancer prevention and early detection.
The campaign is in line with university’s drive to combat widespread diseases in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states and spread the culture of fighting breast cancer.
AGU Students’ Care Chief Shaikha Mona bint Abdulaziz Al-Khalifa stressed the vital role of students in promoting national anti-cancer programmes and campaigns, warning against the danger of breast cancer which affects women over thirty in particular.
"Students contribute actively through such campaigns and functions in in promoting the culture of fighting breast cancer", she said, stressing the importance of following a healthy food lifestyle, exercising and avoiding bad habits", she said.
The university students are also planning to take part in the Cancer Walkathon, an event annually organized by Bahrain Breast Cancer Society.
