Thais around the world celebrate King's 84th birthday

BANGKOK, December 3 (TNA) - Nearly 100 Thai embassies, consulates general and Thailand trade and economic offices worldwide are simultaneously organising activities in honour of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej on the auspicious occasion of the beloved Thai monarch's 84th birthday on December 5. Thai Foreign Affairs Ministry Spokesman Thani Thongphakdi told reporters that Thai communities, as well as other public and private agencies are also joining the overseas celebrations of His Majesty the King's 84th birthday, in which prominent figures of the respective countries or areas are also invited to participate. Thani, who is also Director-General of the ministry's Department of information, said that 18 Thai embassies and consulates general in the United States, Europe and Japan will also join in Thailand's live broadcast celebrations of His Majesty the King's 7-circle birthday at Sanam Luang ceremonial ground by the Bangkok-based TV-pool network on December 5. The spokesman acknowledged that a special article on life-long royal activities and contributions to the Thai people in all areas of His Majesty the King, produced by the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is also published on the Newsweek Magazine in its December 5 Issue.
