Thailand Reports 15 New Covid-19 Infections with One More Death

BANGKOK, April 22 (TNA) – Thailand reported 15 new Covid-19 cases, raising the total to 2,826 with one more death, bringing the toll to 49. Dr Taweesin Visanuyothin, spokesman of the government’s Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration said the new death was a 58-year-old woman, having pre-existing conditions of diabetes, hypertension, obesity and dyslipidemia. She had close contact with her daughter, who tested positive to coronavirus. The recovery cases rose by 244 to 2,352 in total while 425 patients are being treated in hospitals, he said. Out of all new cases, 10 cases were in close contact with previous patients. Other cases include a returnee from overseas, a visitor to crowded places and three persons, whose jobs are involved with foreigners or worked in crowded areas. Among all confirmed patients reported in 68 provinces, most patients or 1,605 cases were centered in Bangkok and adjacent province of Nonthaburi, followed by 591 in the South, 360 in the central region, 108 in the Northeast and 95 in the North.
