Thailand Post issues new stamp to honor Thai King
BANGKOK, July 7 (TNA) - The Thailand Post has issued a commemorative stamp collection to mark His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s trip to launch new five royal irrigation projects, set for July 7.
His Majesty the King is scheduled to board the double-decker cruise ‘Angsana’ from Siriraj Hospital Saturday evening and travel north of the Chao Phraya River to the Royal Irrigation Department, where the Thai monarch is also scheduled to preside over the launching ceremony of the five royally-initiated irrigation projects.
They include the Khun Dan Prakan Chon Dam in Nakhon Nayok province, the Kaew Noi Bam Roong Dan Dam in Phitsanulok province, the Lam Payang Bhumipat water tunnel in Kalasin province, the Thorani-Narumitr Water Gate in Nakhon Phanom province and the Uthokvibhajaprasit Water Gate in Nakhon Si Thammarat, which are all part of up to 2,000 royal projects initiated by the revered Thai monarch to solve the country’s flood and drought problems.
The newly-introduced stamp collection can be ordered at Sam Sen Nai Philatelic Museum or on the [www.postemart.com] website at the price of 120 baht per set. (TNA)
