Thailand, Malaysia jointly develop education

CHIANG MAI, July 3 (TNA) - Malaysia and Thailand have jointly developed educational system between each other. A similar cooperation is expected to be adopted by fellow members in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) later. Under the ongoing scheme which is held for the fourth time and is continuing in the northern capital of Chiang Mai, more than 100 Malaysian and Thai academics exchanged the outcome of their researches on education which will be used by the two countries later. Anek Permvongseni, secretary-general of Office of Education Office, said both countries would gain from the exchange of educational systems. Thailand is interested in the teaching systems of arithmetic, science and English from Malaysia, he said, adding that Malaysia is keen on learning Thai indigenous. Anek said he plans to propose to the Education Ministry to extend a similar cooperation to other members of ASEAN as ASEAN Economic Community is approaching. (TNA)
