Thai PM welcomes Children’s Day 2012

BANGKOK, December 22 (TNA) - Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has welcomed the National Children’s Day 2012 with a motto calling on all Thai youths to harmonize, walk through the path of wisdom, preserve the national identity as Thais and pay attention to changing technologies. As National Children’s Day 2012, which falls on January 14, is approaching, Premier Yingluck said Thursday that she wishes to see all Thais smile, especially children, encouraging the Thai youths to keep pace with advance technologies in a balanced stand with honourably national identity. The prime minister told reporters that she has prepared a surprising gift for Thai children and is considering the possibility of having groups of youths to visit her office at Bangkok's Government House, where her only son Supasek Amornchat, will also join the National Children’s day activities. Regarding to keenly-awaited free tablet computers for school kids, Yingluck said they should be ready for handouts by next semester pending preparations for the tablets' content, including supplementary class materials. Meanwhile, some 227 youths who have brought fame to their motherland and 190 other role model kids, all selected by the Ministry of Education, will pay a courtesy call on Premier Yingluck on the National Children's Day 2012.
