The caravan, released in front of the Dusit Palace and attended by Cabinet members, civil servants, business persons, entertainers and people from all other walks of life, comprises mobile medical units, kitchens and street cleaners for flood victims in Bangkok and peripheral provinces. The prime minister also handed over 1,100 wheelchairs to persons with disabilities (PWDs) suffering from floods and received donated necessities, vehicles and financial support for flood-affected people from representatives of those attending the event. Premier Yingluck acknowledged that the post-flood rehabilitation activities, starting from December 1, were launched as part of grand celebrations nationwide for the 84th birthday anniversary of the beloved Thai monarch, who has worked untiringly for the country and his subjects, saying that the event is also aimed to quickly bring normal life to flood victims and to show good care among Thais. According to the Puea Thai premier, the post-flood rehabilitation activities will focus on 12 flood-affected constituencies in Bangkok and adjacent Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani and Nakhon Pathom Provinces, covering resolving clogging polluted water, collecting waste, treating ailing people and improving transport routes.
