Thai Defense Minister: Water Out Of Don Mueang Airport Before Friday

BANGKOK, November 1 (TNA) - Defense Minister General Yuthasak Sasiprapha on Tuesday ordered the Royal Thai Air Force to completely drain out flood water occupying the tarmac of Don Mueang Airport before November 4. Speaking to reporters before Tuesday’s cabinet meeting, General Yuthasak said he has instructed Air-Chief Mashal Ittipon Supawong to coordinate with the Royal Irrigation Department on the drainage work, saying he has instructed for the task to be completed before this Friday. The defence minister also acknowledged that the Royal Thai Force headquarters, located at Don Mueang Airbase has now been flooded. Furthermore, General Yuthasak said he will ask the government to issue clear instructions on flood relief operations at Tuesday’s cabinet session, saying the responsibility needs to be shared between all agencies to ensure adequate flood assistance because the impact of this crisis is getting bigger.
