Taiwanese man arrested in Thailand for stealing baby bodies
BANGKOK, May 18 (TNA) - Thai police have arrested Jo Hong Hun, a 28-year-old Taiwanese man with the British citizenship, allegedly for stealing baby bodies and selling them via a Taiwan-based website to those who believe the baby bodies will bring about great fortunes.
The Taiwanese man was arrested on Friday at a hotel room in Bangkok's Chinatown or Yaowarat area, where the Thai police also found six baby bodies wrapped with superstitious ropes and letters.
The police raid followed complaints that the Taiwanese national had sold such baby bodies online to several business operators in Taiwan who believe such the baby bodies will bring them good fortunes.
The suspect told the Thai police that he had sold talismans in Taiwan and had often visited Thailand to acquire such objects for resales in Taiwan, and that, in the latest visit, he arrived in Bangkok early this month to buy baby bodies.
The Taiwanese suspect revealed that he bought the six bodies at 200,000 baht and planned to sell at 200,000 baht each, and that the six baby bodies he had acquired through a Taiwanese man living in Thailand were the second lot he had bought.
The Thai police charged the Taiwanese man with concealing human bodies and are tracking down those who had supplied the baby bodies. (TNA)
