Syrian National Coalition Appoints Ambassador to Qatar

Doha, February 14 (QNA) - Syrian National Coalition leader Moaz al-Khatib has put forward the credentials of Nizar al-Haraki as representative of the opposition in Qatar, an official source at the Foreign Ministry told Qatar News Agency (QNA). The decision to appoint the envoy goes in line with Qatar's recognition of the Syrian National Coalition as a legitimate representative of the Syrian people, the source said, adding that the State of Qatar has accepted al-Haraki's appointment and agreed to grant him the diplomatic immunity needed for him and his assistants.
