Symposium on combating fraud held

Manama, Nov. 17 (BNA): Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Ministry Undersecretary for Justice Affairs Khalid Hassan Ajaji underlined the comprehensive and effective role of the anti-fraud system which is based on diverse specialised authorities including the judiciary, the Public Prosecution, the Interior Ministry's General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security, the National Audit Office and the parliament.
This came in a speech he gave on behalf on the Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister in the opening of a joint symposium between the Royal University for Women and West Virginia University on risk management of fraud and supporting the judiciary.
The Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Ministry Undersecretary for Justice Affairs thanked the two universities for the valuable symposium which sheds light on an important issue which is considered as one of the complex crimes. He pointed out Bahrain's ratification on the UN Convention Against Corruption in 2010. He emphasised the need to boost legislations to tackle e-fraud crimes in light of the fast-paced technological boom.
