Sustainable development goals discussed

Abu Dhabi, Jan.20- (BNA): UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Federal National Council Affairs Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash received Assistant Foreign Minister Abdulla bin Faisal Al-Dosary. Al-Dosary commended the UAE Government for the warm welcome and the outstanding organisation of the 2nd Blue Economy Summit which was held on January 19, as part of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2016. He underscored the importance of furthering the achievement of the Global Sustainable Development Goals 2030, stressing particularly economic cooperation across seas and oceans, combating the scourge of poverty and the reduction of pollution. He lauded the role of the UAE in supporting the Sustainable Development Agenda, stressing Bahrain's keenness on high-profile participation in the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2016, particularly the Blue Economy Summit.. Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash hailed Bahrain's active participation in the conference, stressing deep-rooted fraternal relations bonding the two friendly countries on all levels. He highlighted the challenges facing the region to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, stressing the importance of building on previous achievements as part of the 2015 Millennium Development Goals.
