Supreme Judicial Council's achievements praised

Manama, May 28 (BNA): Assistant Secretary General of the Supreme Judicial Council Khalifa Al Wardi received a delegation from the European Union led by Human Rights Special Representative Stavros Lambrinidis. He highlighted the efforts of the Supreme Judicial Council to boost human rights and ensure a just and independent judiciary earning the confidence of all components of the Bahraini society. He also stressed that the council is acting in line with the strategic document 2020 aimed at promoting the judiciary and further bolstering political, social and economic life in Bahrain. He underlined the importance of such meetings with international human rights organisations to exchange views on ways of fostering human rights. The EU delegation praised the achievements of the Supreme Judicial Council in ensuring a more effective and independent judicial system, thanking the council for the detailed account given to them on the judicial power in Bahrain.
