Supreme Judicial Council Issues Annual Statistical Statement for 2012

Doha, July 13 (QNA) - HE Chief of the Supreme Judicial Council Judge Masoud Mohamed Al-Amiri has endorsed the annual statistical statement on cases referred to various degrees of courts and decisions taken thereon during the past year. The statement shows that the number of claims considered before courts in 2012 amounted to 81 452 cases with verdicts issued on 65 363 cases, explaining that rules were passed on 80 percent of the cases,, an increase over the year 2011 where the percentage of the passed rules was 79 percent. It was remarked that cases related to checks have decreased while the number of settled check cases increased, the statement said noting that in 2012 check cases referred to courts totaled 16750 with ruled passed on 15898 or 95 percent of them. The numbers in 2011 was 23422 cases of which 21665 or 92 percent were ruled. The statement included a number of rules issued during the summer months (July - August - September) which totaled 5100 rulings. HE Al Amiri praised the effort made by court judges and their assistants, urging everyone to exert further effort to achieve the maximum degrees of justice.(QNA
