Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs holds regular session

Manama, Dec. 8 (BNA): The Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA) has extended sincere congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, the Royal Family and the Bahraini people on the near advent of the National Day, the Accession Day and the Martyrs' Day. During its regular session today, held under the chairmanship of its President Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalid Al Khalifa, in the presence of Deputy President Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, the SCIA wished Bahrain lasting security and development, and its people further progress and prosperity. The council expressed pride in the martyrs of the nation for their great role and effective contributions to the kingdom's development and progress, noting that the Martyrs' Day is a good opportunity to reassert good citizenship and national belonging, and stressing that patriotism is innate and urged by Islam. Meanwhile, the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs expressed delight following the success of the medical check-ups HRH the Prime Minister had undergone recently, praising the crucial national role played by the Prime Minister, being a distinguished leader who led the government's action with a far-sighted vision, resolve and dedication. The SCIA wished HRH Premier abundant good health and long life in order to be able to bring about more landmark achievements for Bahrain and its people. In another context, the panel expressed Bahrain's pride in serving the Holy Quran, lauding HM the King's support to Holy Quran-related activities. It also praised Bahraini youth's winning of the first place in the single and teams’ categories in the 27th GCC Quran and Hadith Competition, which was held recently in Qatar. The council also discussed other topics on its agenda.
