The Sultanate of Oman Praises Iraq’s Efforts To Reduce Tension In The Region

Baghdad / NINA /- The Sultanate of Oman praised Iraq’s efforts to reduce tension in the region. A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said today that the Iraqi ambassador to Muscat, Ali al-Dabbagh, met the undersecretary of the foreign minister for diplomatic affairs in the Sultanate of Oman, Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Harthy, and discussed with him ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries to serve the common interests. The ambassador called for the importance of sustaining bilateral political dialogues in the light of current developments, in addition to the latest developments in Iraq, and also touched on the issue of diplomatic permits for Omani aircraft crossing the airspace of Iraq. For his part, the Omani official welcomed the holding of meetings at the level of Foreign Ministry Undersecretaries for both countries, indicating that Youssef bin Alawi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, would welcome the idea, because he is interested in political dialogues with Iraq and Arab countries.
