Sudan's First Vice President Arrives in Doha

Doha, April 06 (QNA) -Sudan's First Vice President Ali Osman Mohamed Taha arrived in Doha on Saturday for a visit to Qatar during which he participate in the international donors'conference for the reconstruction and development in Darfur . The conference will kick off in Doha tomorrow, Sunday . HE sheikh ahmed bin mohamed bin jabor al thani, the assistant foreign minister for international cooperation welcomed the Sudanese senior official upon his arrival at doha international airport . Also on hand to receive mohamed taha at the airport were HE Ibrahim fakhrou, the protocols department at the ministry of foreign affairs and qatar's ambassador to sudan HE rashid al-nuaimi. It is worth to mention that several Sudanese senior officials have repeatedly highlighted the supportive stand of HH the Emir of the State of Qatar, the government and the people of Qatar who extended all forms of support and assistance to Sudan. They also pointed to the continuous efforts made by Doha over three years to lead the Darfur peace negotiations despite numerous obstacles encountered The outcomes of International Donor Conference for Development and Reconstruction in Darfur, due to be held in Doha next Sunday, will be of high importance to the people of the region, said Amin Hassan Omar, Minister of State at the Presidency of Sudan and the head of delegation of the Government in the Darfur peace negotiations. Dr. Amin Hassan Omar, in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) issued here recently , said the Darfur region desperately needs help from Arab and Muslim countries in order to achieve real development in the region and put an end to all the causes of the fighting, hoping that the Arab and Islamic countries shoulder their responsibility towards Sudan to help it achieve the desired stability.(QNA)
