Storms, flashfloods continue to wreak havoc in Thai South
THAILAND, June 6 (TNA) - Storms and flash floods have continued to wreak havoc in Thai South, causing damage to property, and farmland.
Flood situations in Ranong province has worsened further as prolonged downpours continue to produce more flash flooding. All five districts have been affected.
Ranong Governor Wednesday morning called for an urgent meeting to assess the situations and to speed up assistance for affected people.
Meanwhile, residential buildings and local farmlands have been damaged after rain-storms lashed Krabi province.
Sai Thai sub-district of Mueang district is one of the hardest-hit areas. One person died when his motorbike hit a fallen tree that lies in the middle of a road.
Over in Satun province, strong waves with height of 2-3 meters have caused damaged to seaside homes. Thousands of fishermen have been unable to go out for fishing for a week due to the rough sea. (TNA)
