State Protection Service may pass under Georgian government’s subordination

The Special State Protection Service may pass under the government's subordination. According to the bill initiated in the Parliament, the service will not submit to the president.
MP Irina Imerlishvili is the initiator of the bill, while the committee on defense and security - the author.
After making the changes to the law on "Special State Protection Service," the Georgian government will determine the status of the service, to regulate the issues related to its operation, the right to appoint and dismiss the officials.
The bill will be considered in the parliamentary committees next week.
Member of the parliamentary minority Mikhail Machavariani called the initiative as a political decision and stressed that the minority will actively participate in the committee hearings.
