Speaker, Russian Ambassador discuss reinforcing cooperation

Manama, Jan 11 (BNA) – Council of Representatives Speaker, Ahmed Al-Mulla, today received Russian Ambassador to Bahrain, Victor Smirnov, and highlighted enhancing cooperation and coordination in various international forums. Speaker noted the importance of laying down an active strategy for boosting political, legislative and parliamentary cooperation and exchanging visits, with the aim of coordinating on confronting terrorism. He commended the historical friendship relations bonding Bahrain and Russia in all fields, according to which a number of visits made by Bahraini officials to Russia, among of them the recent visit of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and HRH Crown Prince. The two sides discussed means of activating parliamentary relations and exchange of expertise, and reviewed regional and international topics of joint interest. Russian Ambassador welcomed promoting parliamentary and legislative cooperation in the interest of the two countries and their peoples, looking forward to reinforcing bilateral cooperation in various areas.
