Speaker receives Omani ambassador

Manama, Jan. 18. (BNA) -- The Speaker of the Council of Representatives Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla has stressed the deep-rooted fraternal Bahraini-Omani relations, saying they were growing steadily the in political, economic and social fields. He voiced the council's support for the Bahraini-Omani joint committee, expressing hope that it will consolidate parliamentary cooperation, activate joint parliamentary committees and coordinate stances in the international arenas to serve both countries, and commending Oman's role in achieving stability and development in the region. Receiving the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Kingdom of Bahrain Abdullah bin Rashid Ali Al-Medelwi, in the presence of the First Deputy Chairman at the Council of Representatives Ali Al Aradi, the Speaker lauded the advanced level of the long-standing bilateral relations, thanks to the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Oman's Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said . The Ambassador extended his sincere congratulations to the Speaker and conveyed the greetings of Omani Shura Council Chairman Shaikh Khalid Al Ma'wali. He lauded the exerted efforts by the legislative council in both the countries in order further cement bilateral relations and upgrade joint cooperation on all levels.
