Speaker receives Iraqi ambassador

Manama, Dec. 22 (BNA)-- Representatives Council Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla received today Iraqi Ambassador to Bahrain Dr. Ahmed Nayef Rasheed Al-Dulaimi and underlined the importance of developing bilateral parliamentary relations and coordination, lauding the historic ties binding both countries. Both sides discussed ways of bolstering bilateral cooperation in the parliamentary, economic and cultural fields. Talks also focused on the situation in Iraq and the efforts made to combat terrorism and maintain Iraq's security, stability, Arab identity and territorial integrity by stopping all forms of interference in its internal affairs. The Iraqi ambassador congratulated Al-Mulla on presiding the Representatives Council and conveyed to him the greetings of his Iraqi counterpart Dr. Salim Al-Jebouri. He praised the advanced level of the legislature in Bahrain and the civilisational experience witnessed during the parliamentary and municipal elections.
