Speaker honoured by Arab Women Media Network

Manama, Dec. 29 (BNA): The Arab Women Media Network has conferred on the Representatives Council Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal the title of Best Political Achievement for Arab Women in 2018. In a statement, the network hailed the Bahraini Representatives Council’s election of Fawzia Zainal as the council’s Speaker to become the first woman to take up this high profile post in the history of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Representatives Council Speaker extended heartfelt congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women on the achievement. She described the accomplishment as an achievement to the kingdom of Bahrain as a whole and Bahraini women, in particular, pledging to continue assuming role and responsibility in promoting the kingdom’s civilisational accomplishments. About criteria of granting the title, the Arab Women Media Network pointed out that Fawzia Zainal participated in the Bahraini parliamentary elections in two previous sessions. Her determination and strong will enabled her to win last November. Fawzia Zainal, the network added, is considered as a political, media and academic personality. She is also an activist in the women’s field and educational guidance. She has a Masters Degree in media and other certificates in political sciences, psychological guidance, Arab language and education. She also worked as a university lecturer, Director of Bahrain TV, an Advisor at Bahrain Radio and Television Corporation, a specialist in psychological guidance and a Director of the Administrative and Financial Affairs at an educational establishment. She has also an outstanding activity in community work.
