Souvenir stamps produced for Royal Coronation of new Thai King

BANGKOK, May 3 (TNA) - State-run Thailand Post Company Limited (Thailand Post) has produced three million souvenir stamps for the public distribution, marking the country's historically auspicious occasion of the Royal Coronation of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun, or King Rama X. Thailand Post made the announcement in Bangkok on May 2, saying that the specially-produced souvenir stamps will be on sale at its offices nationwide as of May 4, when the main ceremony of the Royal Coronation of the new Thai monarch is scheduled to be held at the Grand Palace in the capital. According to the Thailand Post announcement, each of the souvenir stamps shows the royal portrait of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun in the Royal Thai Army's full dress uniform with his Royal Title and the background of the Grand Palace. The Thailand Post stated that the souvenir stamps were produced in France with the glass foil technique, the first of its kind in the world, making the white color of the royal uniform and other four colors printed in each of the stamps become outstandingly realistic. Besides, the Royal Title of the new Thai monarch was embedded and embossed in each of the souvenir stamps, together with the word "Thailand". The souvenir stamps for the Royal Coronation of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun, produced at only the three million-limit, will be publicly sold at the price of 100 baht per set, which comprises of 10 stamps. Thailand Post has also produced covers of the souvenir stamps to be sold at the price of 20 baht each. (TNA)
