Sons of Palestinian Martyrs Arrive in Doha at the Invitation of HH the Emir

Doha, January 16 (QNA) - A number of sons of Palestinian martyrs and their escorts arrived this evening from Gaza Strip on a week-long visit at the invitation of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani. Member of the Qatari Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza Ahmed Al-Zuwaidi, who received the sons of martyrs and their escorts numbering 61 persons, including 45 children and 16 escorts, told Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the visit of the Palestinian delegation came upon a gesture by HH the Emir when he visited the Gaza Strip recently and met with sons of the martyrs, pointing out that the visit was a culmination of HH the Emir's initiatives towards the Palestinian people, the people of Gaza and the sons of martyrs in particular, and his care for the affected sons of the Palestinians. Al-Zuwaidi added that the effects of HH the Emir's generous sponsorship covered all aspects including, the provision of decent living as well as housing, hospitals, schools and compensations for the effects of war, adding that HH the Emir sought to alleviate the suffering of the Palestine people and took into consideration the humanitarian and moral aspects. On the role of the Qatari Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza, Al-Zuwait said it is responsible for reconstruction projects as well as humanitarian projects covering basic services that are not available due to the Isreali war on Gaza, adding that the committee is keen on the aspects that the children of Gaza have missed because of the difficult circumstances and the blockade. For his part, member of the Palestinian delegation Khaled Abu Odeh expressed deep thanks, gratitude and appreciation to HH the Emir and the people of Qatar who have always been supportive to the Palestinian cause and the rights of Palestinian people Meanwhile a number of the martyrs' sons expressed pleasure for the generous gesture of HH the Emir and thanked the leadership and the people in Qatar, noting that it was the first time for them to leave Gaza Strip.(QNA)
