SOCAR: Gas production in Azerbaijan rises in 2Q2020

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 16 By Nargiz Ismayilova - Trend: The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) produced 1.8 million tons of crude oil and 1.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas on fields operated by the company from April through June of this year, Trend reports referring to SOCAR’s report for the second quarter of 2020. According to the report, over the reporting period, natural gas production in the country increased by 14 percent, compared with the same period last year, and amounted to 9.4 billion cubic meters, while crude oil production made up 8.6 million tons. In the second quarter of the current year, SOCAR processed about 1.5 million tons of crude oil and nearly 804 million cubic meters of natural gas, while the degree of oil refining was equal to 94.93 percent. The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan is involved in the search, exploration and development of oil and gas fields in Azerbaijan, production, processing and transportation of oil, gas and gas condensate, sale of oil and petrochemical products, gas in the domestic and foreign markets and providing the population with natural gas. --- Follow the author on Twitter: @IsmailovaNargis
