SMEs, Women and Young Generation as the Key Agents to the Economic Development of IORA Countries

Jakarta, IORA – President Joko Widodo affirms that SMEs, women and young generation are the key agents of the fair and sustainable economic development of IORA countries. “We can not talk about sustainable economic development without concerning the three vital factors, “said President Joko Widodo in his remarks when opening Indian Ocean Rim Association Business Summit forum in the IORA Summit series at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) on Monday (3/6). Presiden explains that the agents of fair and sustainable economic development are firstly the SMEs where all IORA countries have more than a half of their GDP or approximately 70% providing work opportunities. The second agent is the women role as pillar of the family since they usually have better ethics and resposibility than men. Third is the young generation as the largest generation in IORA countries. “It is a potential strength, except those who are not serious. There is a difference,” he added.
