Shura President hails Palestinian flag hoisting

Manama, Sep.30 (BNA): The Palestinian flag has today been hoisted for the first time on the United Nations (UN) headquarters in New York. Shura Council President Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh congratulated the Palestinian leadership and people on the historic milestone which, he described as a landmark victory for peace, freedom and international legitimacy and the just Palestinian cause. He pointed out that the breakthrough bolsters the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, stressing particularly the establishment of their independent state on their national territory. Al-Saleh urged the Palestinians to seize this defining moment in the history of their cause, end factional divisions and achieve national reconciliation and transcend partisan considerations. He hailed decades-long efforts that yielded this historic achievement which would pave the way for the establishment of a Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital.
