Shura Council receives UK House of Lords delegation

Manama, Jan. 12 (BNA): The Shura Council's First Deputy Chairman, Jamal Mohammed Fakhro, and members of the Council's Committee on Foreign, Defence and National Security on Tuesday received Lord Peter Chadlington accompanied with some members of the UK House of Lords, currently visiting the Kingdom of Bahrain. They discussed various areas of bilateral cooperation. Fakhro affirmed the historic bilateral ties, wishing their visit to culminate in further entente and opening up new vistas of cooperation and mutual exchange of expertise. The guests were briefed about the Kingdom of Bahrain's democratic reforms and development process as well as the positive strides taken by the Kingdom in the area of preservation of human rights thanks to the efforts and directives of the Kingdom's wise leadership. The were also briefed about the role undertaken by the legislative authority in this aspect. .
