Shura Council participates in Eighth Conference of the Association of Senates Shura and Equivalent Councils in Africa and Arab world

Addis Ababa, Apr 6 (BNA) – Deputy Chairman of the Shura Council's Public Utilities and Environment Committee, Fouad Ahmed Al-Haji, today stressed that Bahrain is a model of religious tolerance and coexistence, pointing out the historical evidences that prove the people's unity and cohesion. Al-Haji, during his participation in the Eighth Conference of the Association of Senates Shura and Equivalent Councils in Africa and Arab world and the Ninth meeting of their Councils being held in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, from 5-6 April 2014, called for the adherence to the values of tolerance among religions, sects and creeds, affirming the legislative branch's support for openness and patriotism and its rejection of all forms of discrimination based on religions or ethnicity. He noted the Royal reforms that have reinforced tolerance and coexistence in Bahrain, stressing Bahrain's people's commitment to the principles of national unity and respect for religions and religious freedoms that are guaranteed and protected by the Constitution of Bahrain. Bahrain's delegation comprises of Shura Council's members, Jameela Ali Salman, Fouad Ahmed Al-Haji, Osama Bu-Ali and Mohammad Kurki. MJ
