Shura Council chairman praises Jordan's stances

Manama, Sept. 20 (BNA): Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh received here today the Jordanian House of Representatives Speaker Atef Tarawneh and a high-level Jordanian parliamentary delegation, currently on a visit to Bahrain. Al-Saleh affirmed the deep-rooted Bahraini-Jordanian relations and their advanced level, thanks to their leaderships' keen interest, valuing highly Jordan's stances toward the Kingdom and its contribution to its stability. He hailed Jordan's significant role within the Arabian and regional framework, highlighting its democratic and development progress in all fields. He underscored the importance of joint work at creating coordination and cooperation opportunities, which is one of the legislative branch's duties, especially with regard to passing laws or ratifying conventions in order to meet common aspirations. The Jordanian delegation commended Bahrain's democratic march, affirming the importance of consolidating parliamentary cooperation on all levels and coordinating stances in international parliamentary arenas so as to serve both the countries' best interest. The Council of Representatives' First Deputy Speaker and Head of the Convoy of Honour Ali Abdullah Al Aradi was present.
