Shura committee rejects Iran's interference

Manama, July 25 (BNA): The Shura Council’s Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee has affirmed its categorical rejection of Iran’s interference, and the repeated hostile and provocative statements made by its officials.
That lays bare the Iranian regime’s intentions to prolong the state of tension and instability in the region through encouraging terrorism and fueling sedition among citizens of the same country, the committee said.
In a statement, the panel valued highly the firm official and popular patriotic stances voiced by various national organisations, citizens and residents against the Iranian flagrant interference in an immediate response to the call made by the Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa.
It also appreciated the supportive stances towards the kingdom, and rejection of any attempt to undermine the security and stability of Bahrain and the region, as a whole.
The Shura committee reiterated the kingdom’s constant keenness to build strong relations based on mutual respect, good neighbourliness principles and common interests with all countries, on the one hand, and rejection of all attempts to subvert its security or even comment on its domestic affairs.
The panel valued highly the Foreign Ministry’s handing over of an official protest memorandum to the Iranian Embassy acting charge d’affaires following the statements made by Ali Khamenei.
The committee also recommended the legislative branch to send an official memorandum to the Iranian Shura Council to protest Khamenei's statements.
