Shura Chairman calls for speeding up budget discussions

Manama, May 9 (BNA): Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh has affirmed the importance of cooperation between the Council of Representatives and the executive branch to complete the discussion of the draft general budget as soon as possible in order to enable the government to embark on implementing the plans featuring in its action plan or those related to providing the best services for the citizens. In a statement after the National Assembly had received the draft state budget for 2015-2016, Al Saleh said the Shura Council would do its utmost to support the aspirations of the citizens through the discussion of the budget, especially regarding the citizen-oriented projects and services, including housing, health and education. He explained that the Shura Coucil would focus on priorities, while making sure that the citizens' gains are not affected. He wished the financial committees of the Representatives and Shura councils every successful discussions of the draft budget, and meetings with the representatives of ministries and government departments. He directed the Secretariat-General of the Shura Council to provide all requirements of success for the draft budget discussions.
