Shura celebrates International Anti-Corruption Day

Manama, Dec. 8 (BNA): Shura Council has confirmed its full support for the efforts aimed at drying up sources of corruption, enhancing the process of development and upholding justice and integrity. The Shura Council, in its statement marking the 2015 International Anti-Corruption Day themed (Break the corruption chain), pointed out the government supervisory agencies' diligent efforts in fighting financial and administrative corruption in line with the relevant international anti-corruption conventions. The statement added that the government and people share the responsibility of fighting corruption in line with the principles of Islam. It emphasized the Parliament's role in enacting legislation aimed at fighting corruption, promoting transparency, accountability and integrity, in order to secure a prosperous future life for the people of the homeland.
