SCW holds meeting on advancement of Bahraini women

Manama, Mar 30 (BNA) – Supreme Council for Women (SCW) today held a meeting with its partners on the implementation of the strategic plan for the advancement of Bahraini women, in the presence of representatives from ministries and government institutions. SCW's Secretary-General, Hala Al-Ansari, underscored the Kingdom of Bahrain's ambitious national plan for the implementation of the strategic plan for the advancement of Bahraini women that reflects an active partnership in all stages of planning and implementation and has been interpreted in initiatives and programmes of all ministries and government institutions. SCW's Sec hailed all government institutions support delivered for the strategic plan for the advancement of Bahraini women, which embodied the ongoing participatory work between the SCW and all partners. She elaborated this experience contributes to the implementation of the 2014 Strategic Plan, which the SCW's Secretariat has developed the 2015-2018 strategic plan for the benefit of Bahraini women and progress of the Bahraini society. Director of the National Strategy for the Advancement of Bahraini women, Acting Director-General of Policies and Development, Dr. Donia Ahmed, made a presentation on the implementation of the strategic and operational plans for the implementation of the national plan for the advancement of women in 2014. The partners from ministries and government institutions, including Ministry of Social Development, Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health, Central Informatics Organization, Ministry of Finance, Civil Service Bureau and Economic Development Council, also made presentations on their projects in the framework of the national plan for the advancement of Bahraini women in 2014, in which described the implementation mechanisms of the plan during the first quarter of the current year and highlighted the activities carried out and the challenges faced in order to be remedied in the next stages. SCW aims through this meeting to begin the implementation of the 2014 strategic plan with the partners through the interpretation of the strategic plan to operational plans in all ministries and government institutions to achieve the desired goals, in addition to providing the SCW's Secretariat with data and information required in measuring the progress level to be achieved in the strategic plan which will lead to measuring the development of the Bahraini women's status and to empower them to perform their roles and responsibilities at the family and community levels and to build a competitive society. This meeting comes in accordance with the royal approval to the national plan and in line with the SCW's fifth meeting chaired by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa on taking the executive procedures to develop the strategic plan for the implementation of the national plan.
