Scottish Minister Hails Katara Regional Influence

Doha, May 21 (QNA) - Scotland's Minister for External Affairs and International Development Humza Yousaf has lauded Katara as a regional cultural edifice, describing it as great accomplishment that creates a common ground between Qatari and international intellectuals, and pointing to Qatar's renaissance in the political, economic, cultural and sports areas. He hailed the role of Qatar in providing the necessary tools to spread domestic and international cultures, which helps in achieving cultural exchange. He also underlined the cultural links between Scotland and Qatar, expressing his wishes to deepen them in the near future through cultural exchange. Yousaf made the remarks as he toured the Cultural Village, where he was briefed on its departments and its role in hosting talents in the areas of literature, music and art. Katara's General Manager Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti said such visits aims to boost cultural ties between the two countries, especially as Scotland enjoys a long tradition of cultural history that is worth appreciation and examination through activities and events so that the public can get know more about it.
