SCH president, interior minister discuss traffic accidents

Manama, Apr. 8 (BNA) President of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH) Lt-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa met here today Interior Minister and Chairman of the Supreme Traffic Council Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa. Chief of Public Security Major-General Tariq Al Hassan and Undersecretary of Health Ministry Dr. Aisha Mubarak Bu Unq attended the meeting. A report by the International Bank on the cost of traffic accidents in Bahrain was reviewed, in which SCH president informed the Interior Minister about the importance of the report's findings at implementing steps to reduce traffic accidents and their cost. SCH president expressed thanks and appreciation to the interior minister for his ongoing efforts at enhancing joint cooperation, noting the continuation of cooperation to achieve targeted goals. The interior minister briefed SCH president on the latest developments on the National Central Ambulance project, in term of infrastructure and latest steps to provide medics and the project’s centers, in addition to human resources and operation’s training plans. He highlighted that the project comes in a swift response to the requirements of citizens and residents and to keep abreast with the international developments in the ambulance and safety sector. He hailed SCH efforts to enhance the health sector in Bahrain, expressing hope that the joint cooperation and coordination continue for the best of the nation and citizens. The meeting was also attended by General Director of Traffic and Director of Health and Social Affairs at the Interior Ministry.
