SCH to Host GCC Organ Transplant Committee Meeting Next Saturday

Doha, April 10 (QNA) - The Supreme Council of Health (SCH) will hosts on Saturday and Sunday, the meeting of the GCC Organ Transplant Committee. The meeting, to be organized in coordination with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), will attract representatives from the Executive Office of the GCC Council of Health Ministers, and representatives of the State of Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait and Yemen. The committee members will discuss a range of topics related to organ transplant. They will also discuss the annual reports of the organ transplant programs in the GCC countries and the recommendations of the 13th conference of the Middle East Organ Transplant Association, which was held in UAE last December in addition to the challenges facing the organ transplant and the increasing numbers of patients awaiting transplantation. The GCC Organ Transplant Committee will also discuss the strategies of improving the programs of organ donation and transplanting to better serve the patients in the GCC states, and the topic of renal failure and its causes.
