Saudi-French Business Forum in Council of Saudi Chambers Discusses Strengthening Investment Partnerships

Riyadh, January 28, 2020, SPA -- The Council of Saudi Chambers organized here today the "Saudi-French Business Forum", in the presence of Governor of the General Authority for Foreign Trade Abdurrahman bin Ahmed Al-Harbi, Chairman of the Council of Saudi Chambers Dr. Sami bin Abdullah Al-Obeidi, Acting Secretary General Hussein Al-Abdulqader, President of MEDEF International Frederic Sanchez, and French Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Francois Gouyette, with the participation of more than 200 Saudi and French companies in various economic sectors. During the meeting, the Governor of the General Authority for Foreign Trade praised the development in the Saudi-French economic relations, which made France the 9th trade partner with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with a volume of trade exchange amounting to USD10.4 billion in 2018. He added that the volume of French investments in the Kingdom grew by 140% for 2019, compared to 2018, to USD 23.8 billion, with 259 projects, which made France the 3rd among the countries investing in the capital in the Kingdom. For his part, the President of MEDEF International, who is the head of the French side in the Joint Business Council, said that the French commercial delegation includes 60 companies operating in various economic sectors. He said that the aim of this meeting is to enhance France's participation with its great experiences in the Kingdom Vision 2030. --SPA
