Saudi ambassador praises HRH Premier's ICT achievements

Manama, Aug. 19 (BNA): Saudi Ambassador to Bahrain Dr. Abdullah bin Abdul-Malik Al-Shaikh has extended sincere congratulations to the kingdom’s government and people on the Information and Communication Technology in Sustainable Development Award granted to His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The top award, which is a source of pride for all GCC peoples, proves HRH Premier’s sound strategic vision, he said, adding that the honourable achievement is the fruitful outcome of the existing solid relations between the kingdom’s leadership, government and people thanks to the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. Over years, HRH the Prime Minister has established an advanced information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure that matches those in many developed countries, he said. The Saudi envoy affirmed that HRH Premier has focused mainly on making Bahrain a leading country in all forms of ICT in order to serve the administrative, economic and educational services in the country, noting that the e-Government is among the most successful projects in the whole region.
