Sadyr Zhaparov to take part in SCO summit in Samarkand and hold number of bilateral meetings

Bishkek, Sept. 13, 2022. / Kabar /. On September 14-16, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov will make a working visit to Samarkand city of Uzbekistan, within the framework of which he takes part in the next meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Muratbek Azymbakiyev, head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic, said that the leaders of the SCO countries will discuss important issues of multilateral and multi-vector cooperation in the format of the organization, as well as issues of regional and international politics. “As a result of the high-level meetings, the Samarkand Declaration of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization will be signed. It is also planned to sign agreements and documents aimed at strengthening the interaction of the SCO member countries in the political, economic, socio-cultural and other spheres, as well as expanding and improving the activities of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Much attention will be paid to environmental issues, international food security, energy security and other topical issues,” Muratbek Azymbakiyev said. The work of the Council, chaired by the Uzbek side, will be attended by the heads of the SCO member states - the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, the People's Republic of China, Pakistan, India. Sadyr Zhaparov will hold bilateral meetings with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ibrahim Raisi, Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the sidelines of the SCO. The presidents of Belarus, the Islamic Republic of Iran and Mongolia, countries that have observer status in the SCO, will also take part in the forthcoming summit. The presidents of Turkmenistan, Turkey, Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the leadership of the UN, the CIS, the CSTO, the EAEU and a number of other major international organizations will be present as guests of honor.
