Sadyr Zhaparov meets with Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif

Bishkek, Sept. 15, 2022. / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov met with Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif within the framework of the 22nd meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Samarkand (Uzbekistan). The leaders of the countries exchanged views on topical issues of bilateral cooperation. Sadyr Zhaparov noted the strengthening of political dialogue, the development of trade, the strengthening of cooperation in various sectors in the Kyrgyz-Pakistani relations. At the same time, he stressed the need to expand cooperation between countries in trade, investment, energy, industry, education and medicine. The president expressed confidence that the meeting with Shahbaz Sharif would create a good basis for intensifying political cooperation between the two countries and give a new impetus to the development of Kyrgyz-Pakistani relations. In turn, the Pakistani prime minister expressed gratitude for the support and empathy of the Pakistani people in connection with the recent large-scale floods that caused many casualties. In this regard, he noted the importance of taking action, especially at the international level, in order to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and prevent irreversible consequences due to climate change. The prime minister of Pakistan proposed to carry out even more focused work with all countries, including the Central Asian region, to ensure measures to protect the environment. Shahbaz Sharif invited Sadyr Zhaparov to visit Islamabad, President Sadyr Zhaparov accepted the invitation with gratitude. The leaders expressed their readiness to intensify cooperation in trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
