Sadyr Zhaparov meets with Chairman of Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin

Bishkek, Feb. 25, 2021 / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov met in Moscow with Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin. The press service of the Kyrgyz president reported that an exchange of views took place on the prospects for bilateral interaction, including the role of inter-parliamentary cooperation in deepening relations between Kyrgyzstan and Russia. Viacheslav Volodin greeted Sadyr Zhaparov and expressed confidence that his visit would give impetus to bilateral relations, including between the parliaments of the two countries. Viacheslav Volodin emphasized that Kyrgyzstan and Russia are strategic partners, in this connection it is extremely important to develop dialogue not only at inter-parliamentary platforms, but also within the framework of specialized committees of the two parliaments. Referring to the referendum on the choice of the form of government in Kyrgyzstan, the Chairman of the State Duma emphasized that the wise people of the country made their choice. He also noted with satisfaction that the official status of the Russian language is preserved in the draft Basic Law. Viacheslav Volodin once again stressed that there is an opportunity to realize the potential between countries in various fields and expressed confidence that this will happen more dynamically after today's meeting. The Kyrgyz president noted that the Kyrgyz-Russian relations throughout modern history certainly have great prospects for deepening in all areas of interaction. Sadyr Zhaparov expressed gratitude to Viacheslav Volodin for the active support from Russian parliamentarians in international monitoring of the preparation and holding of early presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan. The head of state expressed confidence that the inter-parliamentary dialogue between the two countries is effective and gives an additional impetus to the development of interaction in the political, trade and investment, cultural, humanitarian and other fields. Sadyr Zhaparov noted the importance of consolidating the efforts of the parliaments of the two countries in the fight against new challenges and threats, including viral ones, as well as international terrorism and extremism, and joint actions to ensure security.
