Sadyr Zhaparov expresses condolences to Xi Jinping over death of Jiang Zemin

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov expressed his condolences to ChinesePresident .Xi Jinping on the death of ex-President of China Jiang Zemin. “It is with great sorrow that I received the news of the untimely death of the great son of the Chinese people, former General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, former Chairman of the People's Republic of China, Jiang Zemin. On behalf of the people of the Kyrgyz Republic and on my own behalf, I express deep condolences to relatives and friends, to all the Chinese people. Mr. Jiang Zemin left a deep mark on the history of the friendly Chinese people and state. Under his leadership, the People's Republic of China took its rightful place on the world stage, showed high rates of economic development, strengthened its political, economic and military potential, the country joined the World Trade Organization, won the bid to host the first ever Olympic Games in Beijing, and there were many other achievements. In the region, the border issue between China and the countries of the former Soviet Union, which remained from history, was successfully resolved, the Shanghai Five was created, which later became one of the dynamically developing organizations - the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Mr. Jiang Zemin stood at the origins of the formation of the Kyrgyz-Chinese relations of good neighborliness, friendship and cooperation, which today have reached the heights of a comprehensive strategic partnership. In July 1996, during the state visit of President Jiang Zemin to Kyrgyzstan, the Agreement on the Kyrgyz-Chinese state border was signed, which laid the foundation for the transformation of the state border into a bridge of friendship and cooperation between our states and peoples. The people of Kyrgyzstan will remember the contribution of Mr. Jiang Zemin to the development and strengthening of Kyrgyz-Chinese relations.
