Royal speech praised by Speaker

Manama, Dec. 16 (BNA): Speaker of the Representatives Council Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla has lauded the keynote speech delivered by His majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa while patronising a ceremony marking the glorious National Day and the anniversary of HM the King's accession to the throne. He stressed that the Bahraini people's unity and cohesion have, throughout history, fortified the kingdom against foreign interference and ambitions. Under the leadership of HM King Hamad and thanks to the directives of the government, Bahrain is a leader in reforms and development, he said, citing HM King Hamad's assertion that the Bahrainis' stances have enabled the kingdom to overcome all difficulties. Al-Mulla highlighted the key role played by the Council of Representatives, being a Legislative Branch, a Constitutional institutions and the representative of the people, in supporting the leadership's directives through laws and legislation in the fields of human rights, protection of liberties, economic development, security and stability, which, he said, can be achieved only through close cooperation and tremendous efforts of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa. The Speaker also valued highly the outstanding efforts exerted by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, to enhance the nation's progress. He also expressed pride in the loyal efforts of Bahraini competencies at all levels, paying tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for the nations. He stressed that the Commemoration Day is a token of gratitude to them for sacrifices, courage and heroism.
