Royal Guard Commander patronises Commemoration day event

Manama, Dec. 18 (BNA): Under the patronage of the Royal Guard Commander, Major-General HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, a ceremony was held at the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF)'s Royal Guard marking the Commemoration Day, in the presence of the Royal Guard Special Force Commander, Lieutenant-Colonel HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa After the recitation of some holy Quran verses and the firing of one shot, a minute of silence was observed, the last tune was played by the musical band and the martyr’s prayer was read. Then, the Royal Guard Commander watered a palm tree that symbolises permanent life. The Royal Guard Commander paid homage to the late servicemen in recognition of the sacrifices they had made while assuming their sacred patriotic duties and defending the Right, stressing that the security, stability, progress and prosperity currently enjoyed by the kingdom is the fruitful outcome of the noble sacrifices. HH Shaikh Nasser pointed out that the success of the Operation Restoring Hope carried out by the Saudi-led Arab Coalition is one of the positive impacts of the noble sacrifices of the late servicemen and the courage and bravery they had shown while carrying out their patriotic duties. The Royal Guard Commander stressed that the nation pays respect for the late servicemen, noting that their sacrifices, courage and bravery will remain engraved in the national memory. HH Shaikh Nasser pledged unwavering allegiance and loyalty to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander. Then, the Royal Guard Commander deputised the Royal Guard Special Force Commander to make an inspection tour in the "Martyr’s Farm", along with the relatives of the late servicemen. The proceeds of the Martyr’s Farm project will be allocated to the families of the martyrs, in recognition of their courage and bravery, and as a token of gratitude for the sacrifices they had made while performing their noble patriotic duties.
