ROTA Foundation Launches Ramadan 2012 Project

Doha, July 15 (QNA) - Reach Out To Asia Foundation (ROTA) has launched the 'Ramadan 2012 Project' under the auspices of Occidental Petroleum of Qatar Ltd. (Oxy Qatar) and with the support of a number of volunteers and community partners. The Rota 'Ramadan 2012 Project' includes food distribution for needy families, maintenance and rehabilitation of two houses and communal breakfast banquets for children with special needs and a fund-raising photography exhibitions. The programme also includes a celebration by ROTA volunteers to mark the Garangao, a festival held in the Gulf countries on the 14th night of the holy month of Ramadan, at the children section and at Hamad General Hospital's Children Rehabilitation Centre. Rota volunteers will restore homes of two needy families, paint them and provide them with new furniture. Executive Director of ROTA Issa Al-Mannai said the month of Ramadan provides an opportunity to extend a helping hand to the needy and indigent with the participation of different categories of the society.
