BANGKOK, December 9 (TNA) - Thai Transport Minister Air Chief Marshal Sukumpol Suwanatat said on Friday that major roads and highways damaged during the country's massive floods over the past couple of months will be timely repaired for use by New Year’s revelers.
ACM Sukumpol told reporters that he has ordered the repairs of roads in the Thai North, Northeast, East and South, as millions of people will use for travelling during the upcoming New Year’s holidays.
According to the transport minister, both the Highways and the Rural Roads Departments will be given budget for repairing other roads later, with the work to be complete by next year’s Songkran festival or the traditional Thai New Year, which officially falls from April 13-15. (TNA)
