Representatives Speaker receives Philippine Red Cross delegation

Manama, May 11 (BNA) – Council of Representatives Speaker, Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Dhahrani, today received a delegation of the National Red Cross of the Republic of the Philippines, accompanied by Royal Charity Organization (RCO) Secretary-General, Mustafa Al-Sayed, and Philippine Ambassador to Bahrain, Sahid S. Glang, and praised the RCO's humanitarian relief and international developments efforts and strengthening ties between Bahraini people and other peoples of the world. Al-Dhahrani highlighted HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's directives on providing support and aid to Filipino people, which assert the historical relations between the two friendly countries. He hailed the Philippine community's participations in promoting the development process in Bahrain, and the Philippines' supportive stances towards Bahrain in various international forums. Philippine Red Cross Chairman, Richard Gordon, lauded Representatives Speakers' interest in bolstering bilateral relations, Royal directives and RCO contributions to build 500 residential units and a vocational training center for the Philippine people. The meeting was attended by the Philippine National Red Cross Secretary-General, Dr. Gwendolyn Pang, RCO Assistant Secretary General for Planning and Development of Charitable Resources, Yusuf Abdullah Al-Yacoub and RCO Planning and Projects Director, Ibrahim Dalhan Al-Dussari.
