Representative Of The Assistant Secretary-General Of The Arab League Arrives In Baghdad To Participate In The Int'l Media Conference

BAGHDAD, IRAQ (NINA) - The representative of the assistant secretary-general of the League of Arab States, Khalil Ibrahim al-Zawadi arrived in Baghdad today to attend the international media conference organized by the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, starting on Friday and continuing for four days. Zawadi said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) "Journalistic sacrifices paint a path for media professionals who seek the truth and face terrorism" added "Media is a common denominator for maintaining security and stability in the Arab countries that suffer from terrorism,". He confirmed, "The martyrs of the press have set a path for the true word and they were the best to have a bright road for their country, which boasts victories." He stressed "the need to provide Daesh criminals for the Iraqi judiciary first and then to the International Court of Justice to hold them accountable for their crimes against journalists and the crimes they committed against humanity in general." Al-Zawadi was received by the President of the Iraqi Journalists Union, Chairman of the Union of Arab Journalists Muayad al-Lami and a number of members of the Syndicate's council./ End
